Factory Production Control (FPC) Certification to BC1

Building and Construction Authority (BCA) is a statutory board under the Ministry of National Development of the Government of Singapore. The primary role of BCA is to develop and regulate Singapore's building and construction industry.

The BC1 was initially published by BCA in 2008 to expand the range of structural steel materials available for use in Singapore and the main purpose of the guide was to ensure their conformity, quality, and traceability from different sources. This guide was then subsequently updated to include a list of structural steel standards that can be used for design in conjunction with the Eurocodes.

The BC1 requires manufacturers of steel materials to have a factory production control (FPC) system attested by a certification body accredited by the Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC).

Apave TIV Asia Pte Ltd is accredited by SAC under the Product Certification Scheme - Alternative Structural Steel in BC1 and will be able to certify the FPC systems of steel manufacturers in accordance with BC1 requirements.

The FPC system is an important element that the steel manufacturer needs to establish and implement to ensure that their manufactured products will be able to meet the required standards as per BC1.

Our Factory Production Control (FPC) Certification services will help to attest that the steel manufacturer is able to implement an FPC system meeting the requirements of BC1.
