The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is an American professional organization for mechanical engineers and industry professionals. It is also a leading authority on the development of standards and codes of practice.
The leading standard for pressure equipment and components worldwide, the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code provides requirements for manufacturer certification and quality assurance. It sets rules for the design, materials, manufacture, inspection, testing and operation of boilers and pressure vessels. Apave is accredited by ASME to carry out inspections on pressure equipment.
Authorized Inspection Agency for performance of inspection activities controlled from the above location to cover Sections I; IV; VIII, Divisions 1, 2, & 3; and X of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code in accordance with QAI-1, Part 5
Designated Foreign Testing Agencies by Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) of Japan
It allows overseas inspection and examination agencies to be registered as inspection and examination agencies based on the Industrial Safety and Health Act.
Any manufacturer who intends to export a boiler or pressure vessel to Japan shall undergo a ‘Designated Foreign Inspection’ as prescribed by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare(MHLW) in Japan and get a Certificate of Compliance from a designated foreign inspection agency such as Apave.
National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors:
The National Board Inspection Code (NBIC) is an internationally recognized standard that governs and maintains rules for the installation, inspection, repair, and alteration of inservice pressure equipment. The National Board’s mission is to reduce the risk to life and property by promoting safety in the construction, installation, inspection, operation, over-pressure protection, and repair and alteration of boilers, pressure vessels, and other pressure-retaining items.
- Apave is accredited in accordance with NB-369, Accreditation of Authorized Inspection Agencies (AIA) Performing Inservice Inspection Activities.
- Apave meets the qualification and definition described in NB-360, National Board Acceptance of Authorized Inspection Agencies (AIA) Accredited by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).

ISO 45001 is an International Standard that specifies the requirements to be met by an occupational health and safety (OHS) management system. It provides a framework for organizations to manage risk and improve their OH&S performance.
The standard defines criteria for establishing an OH&S policy and objectives, as well as for planning, implementing, achieving operational objectives, auditing and reviewing. Management commitment, worker participation, hazard identification and risk assessment, legal and regulatory compliance, emergency planning, adverse event analysis and continual improvement are all key elements of the standard.

A set of integrated standards applicable to the whole phases of design, manufac-turing, installation, operation, testing, inspection and maintenance of electric power facilities and components so as to ensure their safety and reliability.
The KEPIC certification program is a system that the qualified organizations and personnel by KEA (Korea Electric Association) in accordance with KEPIC requirements perform their appropriate code activities for nuclear safety-related items so as to achieve the safety and reliability goals of electric power facilities, especially nuclear power plants.
The pressure equipment manufacturer and installer shall be inspected by an authorized inspector who is employed by the Authorized Inspection Agency (AIA).

Regulatory control of pressure equipment is essential to prevent serious accidents and interruptions to operations. In order to prevent such risks, the Ministry of Manpower of Singapore provides for monitoring of these installations during operation, including periodic inspections and re-qualifications.
